Ok, I think this is going to be it for the Comikaze gallery. Great times were had and I especially wanted to thank all the PAX crew that showed up, Cobra 3rd Night Watch, Nathan, Mae, and Kit and everyone else that said hi at the con. It may have been small but it was full of a good time. Thus ends the convention season of 2012. I have high hopes for next year.
PAX Prime 2012 was AMAZING and I’m finally getting to posting these photos from it. For the most part I’m happy with them but quickly discovered that even a 50mm lens is not quite wide enough to get those full body shots very easily in a convention setting. You live you learn I guess, but here are some highlights I finally got around to editing and posting. I’m using Lightroom for the first time with these which has raised a new and undesirable learning curve so for the most part just some light curve and balance correction on these, nothing too fancy. I’m not sure if I’ll get to posting the other 356 images from PAX (especially with Comikaze this weekend) but for the mean time enjoy…
Just fooling around with a new flash setup, trying to get some practice in before PAX, however the results are pretty far from perfect (insert paragraph of self criticism). Fingers crossed that I can come back with some epic pictures. I also wanted to try and do touchups via pixlr which unfortunately does not allow you to edit RAW images, so I went with a large jpeg. These are the probably over compressed results, but anywho.

The night sky lit up the ground beneath it with a soft glow and there was a chill in the air. Two friends lay in the grass so aware of each other’s presence but never looking at one another. “Do you ever try to count the stars?” she asked, a true curiosity squeaking into her voice. “Every day and every night,” he replied, “but never when I’m around you.” “Why not?” A sliver of shock leaked out and her heart rate began to rise. He laid still, looking as deep as he could into the vast expanse. He imagined himself falling up into the night as if God’s hand had wrapped itself around his heart and was pulling feverishly at him, the world quickly left behind in the distance seemingly unchanged without what seemed like his tiny insignificant presence. He closed his eyes to return to his friend’s side. “Because I’ve never had to,” he replied.
Some might be amazed at how few photos I have of myself, I just don’t ever think I photo well so typically avoid the camera but I stumbled upon this pic from a year ago while rummaging through the hard drive so I thought I’d share. Besides I’m told for a personal blog I should get a little more personal once in a while.
I’m not sure what I was going for with the hat, while I still own it I don’t think I’ve worn it since this photo was taken.
